aligntment dowels in block + arp studs, both necessary?

I understand the need for the 2 alignment dowels in the block (intake side, one up by water pump one @ back of head) for use with stock head bolts.

Are they necessary for use with ARP head studs? Anyone had luck without them?

yea for sure if the ARP hardware doesnt interfere with it, which theoretically it couldnt, then yea you would want to use them.

I definately recommend using the alignment dowels with the arp studs - at a bare minimum they help keep everything square and together while tightening the head studs. I can also personaly say they do not interfere at all...
