Hey everyone! I just bought by white SL Versa two weeks ago. This is only my third post. Love the forum by the way!

I took my Versa back in within a week of purchasing hit because I had a pull to the left. When I picked up the vehicle, my service writer told me they did an alignment and noticed the camber was off and they had set it and ws working fine now. I was excited to get it fixed and move on to enjoy my Versay. Well...when I took it on the freeway for my 15 mile journey home, it was still pulling to the left just as much as before. Crazy how a dealership can test drive a vehicle to varify a problem has been fixed, only for the customer to go home with the same problem. Anyway, I plan on road forcing the tires for about a week or two before taking it back if the problem still exist. By the way, a week later and it still exists. Anyone else encounter this same issue???

Alignment issues range from a number of different things, from tire pressure, bent axel, tierods.. etc. could even be the suspention?

Perhaps one thing you could do is get a second opion from a different nissan dealership, or if you know a mechanic take it there and have him diagnose the problem just so you have something to go by when you bring it back.

I had the same problem with my V when we got it. Dealer did an alignment and it went away. When you take it back, ask to take one of the techs with you so you can physically show them the pull.

Thanks guys for the good ideas. I work at a dealership in the service side (not Nissan), and everyone I talk to here is telling me to take it back and leave it there until the problem is fixed. They also said if an alignment didn't work the first time, then have them check the suspension and possibly for a radial pull. So, that's what I'll do. By the way, we have nitrogen air here at work for our tires. I had the air put in a week ago, and had it set to exactly 33 cold psi. So, the air is fine, and it's still pulling. It's actually helped my car drive a bit smoother as it did the same for our family minivan. I'll let everyone know what happens when I take it back to the dealer.

Other considerations for pull:

Whats' the road surface like? Are there tire grooves in it? Is it concrete or asphalt?

does it pull when you're accelerating, coasting, and/or decelerating?

Remember, you've got 1 year or 12,000 miles for free adjustments, including alignment.

I have a 2007 Versa SL. I have also had the car back for alignment issues. The service tech told me that Nissan engineers were at their shop analyzing the issue. They believe the alignment issue is due to how the vehicle is strapped down for transport from the assembly plant. They also aligned the wheels, but it did not help. Maybe the unibody is twisted. Points to note is that the tires are not wearing unevenly and when following in another vehicle, it does not appear to "dogwalk" down the road.

I still am having the same issue i.e. pulling to the left up the crown of the road. This is the first time to the website and I was specifically looking for this topic. I am planning on taking it back in, but was looking for some more information, TSB's, etc.

If anyone knows any technical information, I would appreciate a reply.

There seems to be an issue with the electric steering,I have asked many versas drivers with the same problem ,Mine has no pull but when i drive down a flat road she will slowly start driving to the left after 100 to 150 feet. And i even taken it in for a allignment on a brand new rack.

I have the same problem. Have had the Versa to the dealer 3 times on the issue. It pulls to the left, even when the crown in the road is to the right. The dealer shows me the alignment sheet and it is dead on, plus no un-even wear on the tires. I am stumped also

Here's an update to my "alignment problem" post a few days ago.

Well...I took my Versa back in for the second time this past Friday to have my pull to the left problem looked at again. This time, they did a re-alignment only to tell me that it's perfectly fine. I told the service writer that they did that the first time, and told me it was working fine now. Well, it wasn't and that's why I was back. They then did a tire rotation and told me that it's fixed. I asked them to make sure you ride on the freeway and then tell me it's fixed. They said they did and that it seemed to be a radial pull. Well, I will admit that it's better but "STILL" pulling to the left. I don't want to be one of those annoying customers that take a car back if it's not perfect, but I don't believe this vehicle with 450 miles should be having this issue. Now, I'm wondering if I need to take it back in and have them give me a rental and ask them to not call me until it's fixed. What do you all think???

So if it's not an alignment issue, or a radial pull issue, what can it be?

I heard radial pulls are difficult to fix because it could be any combination of fixes. I.E...rotation front to back, or right to left, or cross rotate. Possibly turning the tire inside out.

I did notice that my steering wheel is just a bit off center to the left, but when I do pull the steering wheel to the right and to the correct position, then the car starts vearing towards the right. Again, even after a second alignment, and a tire rotation, it still pulls to the left. I'm stumped.

Someone mentioned something about how they weren't strapping the vehicle down on to the delivery trucks correctly. Maybe that is the issue here. I'm thinking about calling my dealer back and having them research this and get back to me. I'm a bit hesitant because I doubt they would research it, and let alone call me back.

Any ideas ladies and gentlemen?

sorry, don't have any technical insights...just wanted to strongly suggest that you call the nissan consumer # (1-800-nissan-1), report the issue to them and get a file started. (they will give you a case number.)find out who your regional rep is and ask to have that person call you. start documenting everything in case this turns out to be something that cannot be fixed. and escalate to the service director at the dealership. and don't think you are being too picky...there is no reason not to expect that a brand new car should be operating perfectly.

2007 models seem to be the main affected cars,There are a few 2008 that have it, but its been secretly corrected in the 08's,Even the 08's steer smoother/lighter than the 2007 versas,Nissan knows all about it,But they keep their lips shut,This saves them money not having to replace thousands of faulty steering units,I will put 10 clicks more on mine and see what happens,If i dont see a correction i will be hitting nissan hard for a replacement steering unit.
