I just got done replacing the clutch...now I can't get the transmission back in.Is there some special technique? I've tried raising the whole thing at once, but the bell housing hits before the shaft is aligned. If I keep the back of the transmission too low, it can't make it either.

Do I need to twist the transmission to one side or another first?I've never had this much trouble aligning any transmission before, and I've done them without a jack by myself.

I feel like I should have just paid someone to do it.

I'd appreciate any tips.

Thanks

Yeah, its a pain compared to most cars. We had to twist it alot, and even drop the engine away from the firewall a few inches.

this explains it alot better took two seconds to find.

Thanks Kook....I'll try that tomorrow.

I thought about jacking up the front of the engine a bit, and leave the engine mounts in place, but I think it'll be a combination of things.

I got the transmission back in finally, but if you can believe it, the POS clutch is slipping again.....any ideas?

Quickest/best way to put a transmission on is pushing it in with an up and down motion @ the same time, twisting may help.

Thanks for the tips.

I adjusted the pushrod from the clutch pedal and that took care of the slipage.
