All they can do is change the toe. Why would that be off with springs?
It's always good to have an alignment when anything is done to the suspension. Traditionally, with a spring drop, you wouldn't need an alignment but it wouldn't hurt.
My front fascia is approx. 3" from the ground. When I need to get an alignment, what my guys typically do is raise up the rack and they stack two rubber 6" blocks that is used to chock the wheels at the front end of the rack. When they lower the rack, the front end of the rack is higher by 12" and this makes the entry angle onto the alignment rack less so the front of the vehicle doesn't scrape. Hope that info helps.
Now go back to the shop and edumacate these guys to think outside the box..
