I will install my coilovers over the weekend. so i will need alignment done by the shop. is that correct? and, do I need to have another alignment job done after new suspension componets installed in the future such as new tie rods and tension rods, oh, and control arms... ?

Simple answer, YES. I don't know if I would get it algned doing just TC rods though. It could be a little off on toe if you don't.

$65.95 for 4 wheel alignment is the average around here...

Yes, any time you alter or remove suspension, you need alignment. No, you cannot DIY and get it right. It can be DIY'd, but it won't be right.

You change oil don't you? Consider the alignment a part of the maintenance package for your car. Needs frequent attention / money

DIY alignments are best for last minute checks to make sure the alignment hasn't been knocked off before a trackday or autocross. They can also serve as a means to get you to a shop without the car being overly quirky and hard to drive.

To do a real alignment in your garage you would need quite a few specialzed tools that will probably cost you more than you would ever spend having some one else do it for you.

When you're getting your suspension aligned remember that the best part about coilovers isn't the pimp ride hieght but rather the ability to corner wieght the car.

for like $600 you can buy a magneticle buble level gauge for camber/caster...but for toe youd have to drop more then you will spend on alignments your whole life...alignment isnt exacly a back yard mechanic type of thing...

I will attest to the need for alignment. After lowering mine 1.3 I have a hell of a negative toe isse that is wearing hard on my tires. Turn in is great though and the car is very stable in a straight line. if i were just racing, i would love it. but daily driving is going to get expensive with this much wear.
