Can anyone give me a rough idea what it would cost to have either an Alcantara or fake suede headliner put in my A33 I30? I was in an Audi S8 the other day and thought the headliner was really cool.

Something like this, but color matched to my car's interior:

I'm getting estimates right now on some for my car. So far I've heard that Alcantara goes for around $90/yd, but we'll see what they say.

It's really easy to do a headliner yourself. All you do is:-remove all lights, visors, trim, etc-take the headliner out-clean it-spray adhesive-lay fabric over headliner and press firmly around all edges and holes-trim and tuck around edges/inside holes-re-install everything

it's square yard....you'd probably need 3 atleast.

and measure the width of the headliner if you plan on doing it yourself....most fabrics like that will come on a roll about 4 feet wide.

go check out a local fabric store for a better idea on prices....and first hand look at the quality of fabrics.

Use a quality faux suede, probably be half the price.

Measure the length and width at the widest points, and add a few inches to both the length and width measurement to compensate for the contours of the headliner and a few inches to flip up onto the topside.

Here is a website for Ultrasuede that has it for $39.98 a yard but it is in 45" width so it may not be wide enough which would make you have to have a seam if that was the case.http://www.denverfabrics.com/M...suede

genuine Alcantara is expensive for a reason. the faux suede is much cheaper and should be fine on your headliner where the sun doesnt really hit it, but it is prone to fadeing. Alcantara will not fade and is stain resistant. i but my alcantara from JPMcoachworks. if someone knows a cheaper place to buy the genuine product please let me know.
