ALARM??

On my 97 qx4 i have the stock alarm..im not sure if when you lock it or unlock if its supposed to make a sound...mine does not....all the doors lock and the lights flash twice but no sound when i press lock..then if i press unlock once the int lights go on and just the driver door unlocks then if i press twice all the doors unlock...also if i push the panic button down for 3 sec the horns blair and lights flash,,i know this is all normal...anyways my question is...does it make any sound when you lock or unlock??

There is an option to turn the alarm beep on or off. To do this, hold both LOCK and UNLOCK simultaneously for 5 seconds, your car should flash the lights three times. Then it should honk only when you lock it. Do the process again and it will be silent again.

hey thanks..i tried that but nothing happened(lights didnt flash and the horn didnt go on)...but thanks for the info(i tried it on my friends car and it work like you said)..im guessing there prob a loose wire or something

sorry for such a small photo, the OEM remote looks like this: is that the same one you have? It says, directly on the back, "Press both lock & Unlock for 2Sec to switch from Beep to Quiet" It is made by Kansei for Infiniti

yea it kinda looks like that but i guess the older model and yea i just relize that it says all that on the back

I have a 97 Pathy but mine doesn't look like that nor is that working. Anyone have an answer?
