Greetings all. This is one of a few post I am planning on presenting to help others out with simular problems.

For the last 2 years my car alarm has been going off intermittently. Usually after a few hours or as long as the next day. The problem has bothered me so much that for the last year I've been driving my car less and less. I've also been disconnecting the battery to keep the alarm from going off everytime I locked my door. I took the car to the dealer and they said that they could not duplicate the malfunction. They didn't charge me anything for that problem but that didn't help my situation any. I have recently purchased a Service Manual and troubleshot the wires in the Theft Alarm System. I discovered that the hood switch was causing the problem (which makes me question whether the dealer checked out the car at all). The rubber target that hits the switch to tell the system that the hood is closed had worn down and was not completely making the switch. I reinforced the rubber target with a piece of hard plastic and tape and the system now works fine. Too bad it took me 2 years to do this.

Just some helpful information for you.
