The pervious owner of my '97 240sx had a viper 791xv put into the car, but that car is now totaled and I want to put the alarm into my '95. I have never really tried to do wiring like this but I can cut and splice wires. My problem is I don't have any of instructions or diagrams, but I was wondering if I could just carefully take out the alarm and all the accessories and just swap it into the new car if pay attention to where everything went. I do have both ’95 and ’97 FSMs so I should be able to figure out what wires are what. And also the sensor/trigger that detects if the hood was opened got smashed so can I find a replacement at a hardware store or do I have to order one specially.

That alarm is hardly a plug and play system. With the remote start it is a major job. Also, the wiring on those two cars is not exactly the same. You can get some of the wiring info here: http://bulldogsecurity.com/New...x.htm

I can pull up some other diagrams if you want more and can't find it. As a dealer I have access to some other diagrams. I am not sure about that model but most of the DEI alarms have the wiring listed on the brain of the alarm, maybe you'll get lucky. You can get the owners manual at http://www.directed.com but not the install manual. The hood switch you should be able to buy at a stereo shop or many automotive stores like Checker, Autozone, or Pep Boys. I stock them but it would cost more for freight than the switch is worth.

If your car is a manual transmission be carefull with that remote start.

Thanks for the info, I actually just found the install guide online this morning, so I think I should be able to get it working. And I always leave in in neutral with the parking brake on so I am not that worried about the remote start...which I rarely used on the old car anyways.
