Alarm issue HELP

Got a 2000 qx4. I left me keys in car today so I reached in to unlock doors. Of course alarm goes off. Now I cannot get it to stop besides unplugging battery. When I connect battery, horn starts going again. What’s the fix? I only have a key, no keyless entry

I read somewhere that if you unlock the driver's side door with your key it should shut off the alarm.
