hey all..got a problem...my sotck alarm has been randomly going off. at first i assumed the battery was going low, so i got it tested, and it was. i replaced it and the alarm just went off again. i found the antitheft fuse and pulled it, and my car wouldnt start...im assuming the alarm has some sort of connection with the ignition. so basically right now, im disconnecting my - from my battery everytime i get out of my car then reconnecting it to prevent my alarm from going off all day. anyone seen anything like this before? any suggestions? should i take it to the dealer?thanks

IM me (aim) : ToForDSX or EMail : [email protected]

if you can help....thanks alot

cut the starter kill wires going to the ignition. Doesn't sound factory to me. Gut all that junk and hook it up normal if you can.

Maybe you need to reset the alarm. It happend to my Mazda MX6 once, but my friend fixed it for me. There might be little switch where it connected to alarm. That switch turns off the alarm sys. in the car. if it doesn't work, then take it to the dealer and ask.

The normal place for the alarm switch is right below the steering colum when it enters the dash area or right above the pedals. One position should be on so the alarm will enable when you push the button on your remote. The other is OFF so it will not arm but will lock your doors. try that first. It should look like a toggle switch.

If that doesnt work, you can always find the brain of the alarm. Should be mounted under the plastic by the switch. Remove one connector at a time and try to start your car. Each sensor for you alarm should have a quick disconnect plug on it going to the brain. Trial and error you will find out which one goes to your sensors and which ones you will need. Roughly there are 6 connectors going to it depending on make and model of alarm.
