Alarm Code ?

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

So i plan to disconnect my battery but someone told me most Janpanese car have a alarm code or radio code. You have to enter the code after you re-connect your battery. My car is 2010 infiniti ex35. Do i need the code after I re-connect my battery ?

Thanks

I don't believe that the stereo system in the EX requires a security code when the power is disconnected. I've unhooked the battery a couple of times, and after reconnecting it all I've had to do was reprogram the one-touch power window switch and the radio station presets. I also don't ever recall seeing any reference to security code for the stereo in the owner's manual.

I would think 30 min. should be enough, though I'm not too sure. The guy here to ask would be AWGD8. Also, I thought that you're supposed to disconnect the negative terminal.

I have a 2008. The 2010 I believe has an updated audio electronics system, so I don't know if it is able to retain the memory of all the presets.

I have a 2008 and It does not need an alarm code when you reconnect the battery cable. I believe it is safer to disconnect the negative ( - )battery cable.

I noticed that I lose the auto down mirror features for the driver side. ( easy to set it up)
I do not remember losing any of my preset FM settings? i know I had done this a couple or more times.

1/2 hour should be good enough when disconnecting the battery cable. Some prefers overnight. I prefer about an hour. I am a capacitor era guy LOL!

Why are you disconnecting your battery cable if you don't mind me asking?
