Alaram, the horn, and the engine light

My Nissan Maxima 1998 alarm did go off once in a while. I had to disabled the alarm. I had no problem for a few nights but as soon as I pressed the horn the horn went off and did not shut off. So I had to unplug the horn, however now my engine light (for a check up) is on. Are these somehow related or is it just mere luck.

Any time the engine light comes on, there's an error code that's causing it. You can get the code checked by most auto parts chains and it'll give you a much better idea of what's going on.
