i am setting up an Akron ohio racing night!! Im gonna need ur guys help...

First off, if anyone lives close to akron, please tell me.

Secondly, if u dont, here is some things i need to ask u:

this race is at a public recreational course. $5 admission per car, $10 to be in this race...there is a track and a drag course. I already have 17 people participating. There will also be a $100 dollar pot, 5 of the 10 dollars they spend is going towards it..so far...

I am making a bracket for the races...we are doing all track races.

the three catergories i put all the cars in are: Amateur/Pro/Sport

I would like some help with putting these cars into each category. Here is the list:

07 Nissan Versa99 Ford Escort06 Mustang GT07 Dodge Caliber SXT95 Honda Civic DXS06 Infiniti G3500 Mitzubishi Galant06 Mitzubishi Evo07 VW Eos97 Ford Taurus05 VW Bug Turbo96 Chevy Impala95 Nissan Maxima (Skyline Engine)07 Ford Focus06 Nissan Altima07 Honda Fit07 Toyota Matrix

thanks!

The definition of bracket racing as far as drag goes means each car can go head-to-head against another, but you're given a time bracket, based on the estimated 1/4 mile time of your car. If you don't expect your car to go faster than 15.99 seconds, then you have a bracket time of 15.99. If you go up against a car that has a 13.99 bracket time, your light turns green a full two seconds before the other guy's. Whoever makes it to the end first wins, as long as they don't go faster than their bracket time... (i.e. if your bracket time is 15.99 and you pull a 15.86, you lose)

If you're referring to classifications for running on a track, you might look up SCCA classifications on google.

Yeah my friend Sam makes this claim...i have seen pics of the car. Hes got a nice body kit and all, but i have yet to see the engine. I have a hunch that its impossible...but im giving him the "innocent until proven guilty" treatment.

He is full of ****, call him on it. Unless you mistyped the year he somehow managed to shove an RB an FJ or an L into a FWD car. He probably has a VQ-somethingorother and says it's a Skyline engine because the new ones come with that VQ thing.

Well, just remember, with enough money, anything is possible. Want a Ferrari engine in a Nissan Pulsar? It's been done.

The Skyline engine for years (mid 1980s thru 2002) had been the venerable RB-series inline 6...which currently sells easily for probably about $2500.

If your friend is trying to be tricky, the 2002 Maximas received the VQ35DE that was optional in the V35 (2001-present) Skyline (Infiniti G35) in Japan, albeit with slightly different power specs.

So technically, he could have the same familial engine as the latest-gen Skyline, without it being anything exotic.
