2000 QX4, the OEM brake pads are made by Akebono, but who makes the original rear shoes? Can't find an Akebono rear shoe part number. If no rear Akebono shoes are available, what other brand do you all recommend? Wagner?

Also, Akebono Pro-Act versus Akebono Performance Pads, which do you guys recommend? Obviously I would assume Performance have better stopping, but is it safe to assume they will eat into the rotors more?

You can read about Pro-Act and Performance on their site akebonobrakes

Are your shoes actually worn and in need of replacement? Rear drum components last forever more or less, so a simple clean, lube, and adjust yearly or so should keep them working fine for many more miles to come.

If you do require replacement of the shoes, think of how many miles you got out of the OEM shoes and consider buying them again. I've found new OEM shoe sets on eBay for around $40, and prices from an online dealer such as Courtesy Parts surely couldn't be too much higher than that.
