I just recieved my beautiful calipers from sending them to Mike the powdercoater..

Unfortunately.. they didn't fit under my 22" wheels.. I actually test fitted and it scratched a tiny bit of the powdercoat off..

I just picked up some 5mm spacers.. which should clear fine.. but I would rather modify the caliper itself by milling some off .. it just barely didn't fit.

To those who have milled some aluminum off the akebono.. How much do you feel that you can safely mill off the front caliper edge?

its just the ridge that touched..

Yea yea.. I know I should've did the whole template thing first.. It slipped my mind.. I guess I shouldn't have taken a chance like that..

Anyone have any tips?

I would like to run the spacers temporarily.. until I have some time to send the front calipers back out to mike after milling what I need off.. because my wheels are already flush right to the edge of the fender.. I dont really want it sticking out another 5mm..

Thanks for any help!

Did you get the brackets with the calipers? Or would that not matter? I know that the kits they sell have brackets that need to go on them when you install them on our cars. (chit, i think anyways).........

As for milling them, I'm not 100% sure.. Take a look around the G/Z threads. Someone there may have tried this or have some advice.

No.. these are bolt on for our M's..

I'll look around.. Coz said that I should be fine milling it 5mm..

i'll talk with Mike the powdercoater if possible.. see what he thinkks as well..

ended up using a 5mm spacer.. worked perfect.. will use nail polish for now to touch up..
