Its not that hard, Remove the pipe from the airbox, and plug it

Remove the box infront of the header held on by 4 - 10mm bolts

Unscrew the AIV pipe from the exhaust manifold itself.

cut off 1" of piping from bolt-in end of aiv metal tube, and place 2 nickles in front of it, tighten it down, and drive AIV free.

i dont have the part number on hand, but for that pipe piece u unscrew from down near exhaust mani, nissan sells a bolt (i guess thats what u would call it) that screws right in to block it off. that is what i used for mine, not that the nickel thing wont work, ive heard thats what a lot of people end up doing. but hey, the nissan part is only a couple bucks after u hunt down the part number

I put it in after painting because in California it is required.

I had cut the upper pipe (going from the upper bung on the headers to the rear of the engine behind the left side of the engine)I've been brain storming a few ideas of blocking that pipe off, without having to left the engine and remove from behind the engine.

I could really go for getting rid of it, and i heard it doesn't cause a problem with the engine really, and hopefully doesn't screw with the gas mileage much. The KA just won't die, when it does, it will give me a legitimate excuse to swap something decent in.
