I just recently removed the aiv crap also but the hose nut going to the down pipe was frozen stuck. I just hacksawed the pipe off and tried to use a socket+breaker bar+cheater and still would not budge. I just plan on welding it shut or something.

I did buy the plug from nissan for like 10 bucks but unless I can figure a way out to remove it, it will just be sitting in my room as useless junk.

I got the hose and plug at a plumbing store. Just use a hose clamp over the plug which fits inside the hose

easiest way i have found to get it off is to use a torch on the header pipe its self near / right at the bottom of the bung its screwed into. torch it for a good 30 sec to a min or so then use some channel locks on it and tap the end of the channel locks with a dead blow hammer. its how i got both of the parts out of the exaust header. the AIV one and the EGR one.

Since Nissan sells the plug---does that make it Smog legal in California?
