If your only goal is to stop the ill effects of the AIV, you only have to disconnect the hose at the air filter. This prevents water and exhaust from contaminating your maf and throttle. etc.. If you want to remove the whole thing to create more space, then you have to obviously remove all the hoses. Pretty self-evident. I used rubber knobs for the larger hoses and exhaust pipe and goop for the two vacuum lines.
