Hi everyone,

I was able to remove the entire AIV assembly, including the air tanks behind the front fender (you do not need to remove the fender for this). I'm a bit confused as to what I need to plug to finalize the procedure. I have a 1990 NA, so I am not sure if there is an EGR present or not. If somebody could let me know what I need to plug that would be great.

Thanks

Your EGR will have to be removed, then you can plug the EGR on the passenger header with one of these: http://conceptzperformance.com/Cart/des ... 0.88.53.25

For the AIV, there are 2 hoses that go down to the test pipes. You will need to cap those as well. You can use 2 more of the above plugs to cap those off.

Here is a great writeup to make sure you didn't miss anything! http://www.nicoclub.com/archives/remove ... s-aiv.html

Thanks for your reply Ziggy. I'm attaching a picture of what I have done so far. The two hoses that are plugged were both going to the AIV solenoid, one is off the balance tube and the other goes to the engine, on a harness with 3 others, not sure what this is. Where is the EGR? What else do I have to do, exactly, to finish this process. It would be great to have some detail to understand better. Thanks again.

The link above us for the full AIV removal, and here is the EGR. You can remove it while in (some say) by cutting the hoses instead of removing the solenoid. I removed mine when the motor was out.
