AIV block off

HeavyThrottle.com AIV plug.

I also heard that putting a nickel or a quarter in there and welding it in there works too.

yeh i think your a little off, its a hook up to the exaust manifold i belive it the lower one (last hook up before the cat)

ya, or you can just rip the whole thing out and weld a metal pipe cap on to where it went back in to the exhaust

Last time I heard, it was used to inject fresh air into the exhaust stream to heat up the catallytic converter. I don't understand how it would heat up the cat, but whatever.

if it's an air injection device, it's for emission.when air is shoot into your exhaust, it help burns the unburned gas. it also cools down the exhaust i believe.
