Say with a ka24e obx header or any other for that matter, what do you plug up after you remove the AIV. I know there is a really good write up for aiv removal, but I din't see anything about headers, and what to do.

Also anyone know why the pics don't show. I pritned this all out one time, threw it away cause I thought I wasn't gettin a 240. Now I think I might have another chance, and Im kickin my self for trashin the istructions.

Also is the AIV pipe one in the same as the EGR pipe I hear so much about? So when you plug it of for the AIV removal, your actually completing one part of egr removal right? I hope so, cause it sounds like a great way to kill 2 birds with one stone, since I would od both anyway.

Okay I found a 240 on cardomain with the header pluged for egr and aiv, but he welded a nickle or something in them. Problem is I don't have a welder. Are the pipes threaded into the header for the aiv and egr or do they connect through a hose. Cuz if their threaded, Ithink I could cut both pipes short, but nickles in the header ports, and screw the shortened pipes in behind them?

Is this how the nicjle trick works?

Also. I was thinking about remoing the AIV line completely, I knwo to block the header of, but is their another part I have to block of. I wread the AIV sticky and they mentioned the downpipe???

I don't have a KA24E (got a DE), but as far as I know info should still be valid. You can buy a nice plug from splparts.com that will seal off the AIV AND it won't be a cheapass solution.

You would also need to cap the spot on the intake (stock or something like an AEM) where the vacuum line was running from the black AIV box to the intake.

If this doesn't make sense with your KA24E, then I apologize and you can ignore all of this.

Nah, I appreciate this info. See Im trying to get my hands on this 240 for sale, and I dunno much about the motors, so any info I get is helpful. And if i run into any road blocks down the road I guess I'll post again .

But tell me this. the hard lines that are for the aiv and the egr, do they actually come from the EGR and the AIV? So when I take the EGR and the Aiv off, I should be able to take both their hard lines off completely with them right? Not like I got to leave them dangling under hood, because they still have to be connected to something?

Thanks again for all the help, I'm learnin!
