I use mid caps on my AEG M16, and my P90 hi-caps use a feed rammer that keeps the rounds from rattling in the mag. I hate hi-cap rattles.
Here's a pic of my current AEG. It's a Classic Army M15 rifle. It's never shot correctly. It should have crono-ed in the mid 300s out of the box, but was barely making 260. I figured it was a compression issue, so I started eliminating compression problems that are notorious in CA rifles, and it still hasn't fired any better.
I was using a UTG M14 for a while, but in typical China-clone fashion, the gears stripped out, which led to a gearbox jam, that fried the trigger assembly. It also smashed its own cylinder and piston head in a previous breakdown as well.
In fact, the most rock solid reliable AEG I have owned to date is my TM P90. I upgraded the spring in it and tossed a madbull tightbore barrel and hop up bucking, and it shoots like a champ. It's just a shame that it's limited in range.
This will be my first GBB rifle, but I use a TM M1911A1 as my sidearm. In fact, I stumbled across the WA M4 at eHobby Asia while I was looking for an aluminum frame for the pistol.
I'm excited about the GBB rifle. Ever since WA started talking about doing GBB, I was interested. Tinker Airsoft Group in Tinker AFB have reported reliability issues with the air valve/loading mech if you start upgrading pieces. 2Roy (a korean company) has already released a reinforced part as has Pro-arms (which will probably be what I get). If the snow clears up and I can set up a decent range in my backyard, I'll try to get some groupings done with it.
Marlin, try looking on MAAPR. It's a forum/registry for players in the mid atlantic region. There's some people from the Jersey area, IIRC.
Peter, it's a huge change of pace from paintball. But i prefer it. You may or may not like it. Also, you'll probably get fed up with kids that don't call their hits. At least in paintball, the paint keeps them honest. In airsoft, I just light 'em up when they don't call it.
