alright..idk if any of yu have seen these before but..its the future!

most likely would not be a good choice for drifting but would look tyte as H3LL!

Radical new tire design by Michelin. The next generation of tires. They had a pair at the Philadelphia car show.

These tires are airless and are scheduled to be out on the market very soon.

The bad news for law enforcement is that spike strips will not work on these tires. This is what great R&D will do, and just think of the impact on existing technology:

a. no more air valves b. no more air compressors at gas stations c. no more repair kits SCAN DOWN & SEE. These are actual pictures taken in the South Carolina plant of Michelin. It will be awhile before they are available to the automotive industry. & nbsp;

this is all i have to say " "

Thats cool and all, but what happens when you get all kinds of sh*t stuck in the ribs holding up the tread?

alabama...i was also converned about that aswell..i guess theyd have to washed regularly and check them all the time..still better than trying to choose the right pressure all the time...deff would be sumer time only and prolly for expensive cars that are only driven on smoothly paved surfaces..i guess theyll ahve to design something new..remember, they ahvent hit the market yet

youll never see those in any hard production numbers in your lifetime. changing an industry like tires would be like changing the gasonline industry. too much monay to be made. and um looks like a 10 lb bucket of a$$. they are cool for segways though. already in production for that.

Come on guys...

This tire is for show only. I'm absolutely sure the production tires would have sidewalls. If not, you could sabotage someone's car by sticking a crowbar in his tire.

WHAM, WHAM, WHAM...

"What's that noise?"

"I don't know honey, but maybe someone has stuck a crowbar in our wheel."

Yup, Greg posted this a long time ago.

Itd be funny to park in a puddle on a cold night, only to return your tires being frozen in ice.

yeh, and the motorcycle was a "passing fad" in the 20's.... not saying that it will change the whole tire industry, but dont beat on it too much. and yeh, segways are pretty much the coolest things ever...

Agreed, I am sure there will be a sidewall. I think its just a matter of time before wheels are solid (airless). For instance, wheel chairs can come with solid wheels so no need to pump air (i'm a therapist), its an easy concept, however, like mentioned before the industry may not be ready for this change yet.

those ribs come in different thicknesses which makes them stiffer. cool part about that is changing temps wont affect traction. Ill bet they will be more expenisve, but it looks like they might be able to develop a way to change traction thread without chaning the whole tire out, which might reduce cost.

Just speculation

i don't think i can describe how easy it would be to mount a faux sidewall on those and stop all the claims of how ugly they are.

Those with a sidewall would be teh secks....

I bet you can change the tread w/o changing the tire too. That'd be sweet.

I think I'd want something a little stiffer and a little lower profile for my car though.

And WHO THE **** CARES that it's a repost?? I mean god damn your not the only person on the ****ing internets. We are not all put here to post threads just for you. I Alas, I don't care that you've seen or heard of these tires before.....it's new to me and alot of other people and you just need to GET OVER IT!

That said, I will say though that there is/should be a time limit before it's ok to post a new thread about the subject. Like if the thread has been non active for 3 or 4 months it's ok to post a new one. But to complain about reposting a thread that's likely impossible to find that died over a year ago is retarded and just plain nit picky.....

I go hide now....
