airface vent will not come on

I have 1986 300zx with manual control for heater and ac control and face vent will not come on i checked the vacuum solenoids that control this and found the b/y vacuum line for 6 and solenoids is jumper correct but then it heads upwards with about a 4 inck piece of hose but can not find where it goes and this the correct line that contros the face vent any help thanks
