Anyone know how to take out the airbags in a S14 and leave them out with out something goin wrong i want them out for 2 resons 1(cars goin on a diet 2( dont want my dash ripped apart if i do get in a crash

I am also lookin in the FSM but anyone know a site or something that shows how??:help

Yeah I know how to take em out since mine blew.

You have to take off your WHOLE dashboard, this includes , guages, heating , cd player glove box shifter console steering wheel all the extra wiring. It doesnt take too long as long as your comfortable with it. and you need a security torque bit size 50 to take the bags off. Possibly a pulley to take the steering wheel off depending how wedged on it is. Enjoy.. If my digital camera wasnt broken i'd show you pics since mine is totally apart. Waiting and hopeing to find a dashboard soon But all in all its not worth removing the bags they are there for safety and the bag only wieghs like 10 lbs. More hassle then its worth

Make sure you have adequate safety equipment to support the removal of the bags.

I will have a harness bar, Sparco seat, and a 4-pt. harness.

I got seat belts thay have been good for me in all the wrecks i have been in with out airbags. Never got hert (mostly luck I KNOW) but i went over i brige droped about 20 feet into water(89 accord) rolled 3 times down a hill landed on the wheels drove home(buddys dad vette86)and head on in my S13 with just the sholder belt on walked from all of them. I just dont want them in ther they will tare up my dash.

just so you guys know i only drove into one of those wrecks i was ridein shotgun in the others
