Hope this is not a stupid question and keep in mind that this is my first G35 Sedan, but my PASSENGER SIDE Air Bag light is stating that it is OFF, I don't think that I turned it off. Can somebody please tell me how to turn this back on? I looked through the manual, but didn't see how to turn it back ON! I have a 2005 G35 Sedan (RWD).

Can anyone help, PLEASE!

Quote »Front-Passenger Air Bag Status LightRefer to section 1 in your Owner's Manual for detailed information regarding the Air Bag System. This vehicle is equipped with front impact supplemental air bags. This Infinitiair bag system can help cushion the impact force to the head and chest of thedriver and front-passenger in certain frontal collisions. The front-passenger air bag is designed to automatically turn off under someconditions. If the front-passenger air bag is off, the front-passenger air bagstatus light will be illuminated. The light will also be illuminated any time thefront-passenger seat is not occupied.[/quote] I copied this off a manual posted online. I haven't found section one yet, it almost sounds like it's partially automatic and it definately states if no one's in the seat it will be turned off .

I got the quote above from here G35 Coupe & Sedan

There's also this one but couldn't find anything yet and it's really late need sleep G35 Service Manual

Hope that helps a little

This is normal. Put your wife, girlfriend, or someone else's wife in the passenger seat and notice the difference.

+1, normal--there is a sensor in the seat that goes off at a certain weight. It's mainly geared to small children who would be sitting in the front seat I believe. If you put a backpack or briefcase on the seat, you may notice that the light goes on and off as the sensor detects it.

I think you need 70lbs in the seat to activate...

I've noticed that when I set something somewhat heavy in the front seat, and drive, I get that annoying message that the seat belt isn't fastened. I'll bet it is the same sensor circuit.

Thanks guys...!

I found that it does go off if someone is actually sitting in the seat. Call me a dumb A$$!

Thanks again!
