Airbag & Steering Wheel Compatibility

Hey everyone,
I possibly may have a stupid question in regards to the airbags and steering wheel.
I did however try using the search function as I always do, but it seems like it's not working properly today.

Anyway, I currently have an 01 SE and was considering of picking up a 97 Klondike for a really cheap price.
The problem with the 97 Klondike is that the airbags in both the dash and steering wheel have been deployed.
Everything else works and is in great shape, but the 2 items were never replaced.

I know a place that has an 03 Chilkoot parts car that has both the dash and wheel airbags, but I was wondering if
these can be swapped in to the 97 Klondike.
I was looking over the FSM for both years and it seems that the driver side airbag module might work but I'm not 100% sure.

I was hoping that someone might shed some light and provide some insight on the subject matter.

Even if the airbag modules are compatible (i.e. the wiring harnesses are identical and the fit is perfect), you may need to install the airbag diagnostic / "brain" module, and that would probably not be compatible electrically. I'll try to look at the wiring diagrams later.

My .02 The 99+ are slightly bigger than the previous models which would make the parameters for the airbags different i would think. Secondly i think the passenger airbag was redesigned with the face lift?
