I bought my rogue off an elderly gentleman two years ago. He left a burning cigarette in the glove box, which led to a small fire and caused the airbag module to overheat. The vehicle is no longer under warranty as a result. I replaced the interior and all I now need is a new airbag module (the main computer under the center console). They run about $750 at the dealer. I found out that I can use modules from Rogues that have been in accidents before and they can be reset and reused.
The question; Can I use a module from a SL model on my S? They are different part numbers. I can only find SL airbag modules for about $100, reset and ready to go. If anyone has any knowledge about this, please help!
