Just finished swapping black on black interior into my '93 2+2. After finishing the dash and gauge cluster, my SRS light is now blinking. Any one know if there's a way to shut this off or bypass it?

Pull the light out :gapteeth:

In all seriousness, thats all I did, but I also disconnected the sensors and plan on taking it out completely. Some don't agree with this, but its your car. The only other thing is disconnect the ABS control module, that should stop the blinking.

BTW, the blinking means something is wrong with the airbag system.

I probably am just going to pull the light for the mean time. It's starting to get annoying.
When I removed the dash i had to disconnect the main airbag harness (yellow) right next to the shifter. Everything is re-connected but srs light is now flashing, everything was fine with the airbag system before i did this. I'm eventually just going to take the system out completely once the new motor goes in, but thanks for the feedback.

Did you happen to turn the power on with any of the sensors unplugged? That's normally what triggers the light to come on.

I've never had to work on an airbag equipped Z so I'm not much help but I would think the 300zx service manual available free online would cover re-setting the light.

Airbags can only be reset by mechanic with proper scan tools.

You need to turn ignition on, and within one second, start the door switch activation for more than five times within 7 seconds. This might be able to turn it off. Or simply unplug the negative terminal off the battery for everything to reset.

Well since the Z is ODB1 the only scan tool is nissan consult. Not sure if ConZult can do it

Thanks a lot guys this has been super helpful. @ONEbadZ32 , tried disconnecting the negative terminal, twice actually, didnt do anything. I'm going to try the door switch activation today to see if that shuts it off, someone else suggested the same.
