Airbag light?

A great resource for Nissan Sentra, Infiniti G20, 200sx, Pulsar, NX1600, NX2000, Tsuru, Primera and Sunny owners.

yeah so i had my dash apart today because my deck wasn't working properly. I fixed the deck just a bad ground, i had the panel off in my car tho that has the light for the Passenger airbag (Tells you if the airbag is on or off). i disconnected the harness and then when i reconnected it. The main air bag light on my dash by my speedometer was blinking. And to top that off the air bag light that says if its on or off it completly revese from what its suppose to do. When you put weight on the seat it says the air bag if off and when there isnt any weight on the seat it turns the airbag on? weird. is there a way to reset the system?

Try disconnecting the battery overnight.

There is probably an explanation of how the light works in the manual, so it may tell you what the blinking is.

If that fails, try the FSM, and if that fails take it by the dealer.

Disconnect the main battery connection, Did you daisy chain the batteries and what is the second battery for?

Disconnect the main battery that gives power to the accessories like Windshield Wipers, Headlights, Dash Lights, Brake Lights, Interior Lights and anything Mechanical. Disconnect it over night.

FYI for future reference, any time you mess with behind the dash (any stereo installer will tell you this...) Disconnect the negative lead and leave it disconnected for a few prior to working on it.

Steps to follow:

Turn ignition on, but don't start the car.The air bag light will be illuminated and after seven seconds it will go out and then start blinking. As soon as the airbag light goes off, immediately turn the key off and count to (5).Then do the same steps above (2) more times. After turning the ignition off on the 3rd time around for (5) secs, turn the ignition back on again. The airbag light should illuminate and after (7) secs again it will turn off. At this point it should stay turned off and not flash, if it does report back. If it does stay off, start the car and make sure it isn't flashing.

Well I'll be *blank*! That was easy. And I was about to take it back to the dealer for the 3rd time. Thank you so much.
