Airbag light and thump when shifting

I have a 95 240SX SE. I just got the car a couple of weeks ago and the airbag light blinks all the time. It is very dim, but still it gets on my nerves. The guy I got it from said it had been doing it for as long as he had the car(only one month he bought to resell). I did a carfax and it came up clean, but it makes me wonder if it has been wrecked. Is this a common thing that can be fixed easily? If I let out on the clutch to fast or sometimes just normal shifting it sounds like the rear end is thumping. Do you think it is time to start replacing parts or is this normal? It is not really that loud. Any help would be great.

check your trans crossmember bushing. Maybe your airbag light has a corroded connection or a sick sense of humor.
