Airbags are exploive devices, and are thus very dangerous.

Don't think you will be getting any advice here. Definitiley not a DIY unless you are willing to assume lots of liability.

You have to have whats called a safety torx head... Its a torx head but its got a little hole in the middle... You can get a specialty driver set at sears for $20.. I needed a safety torx head to get the center caps off my wheels.

As he said you need the "anti-tamper" Torx.

Totally DIY. Just disconnect the battery first (for at least a few minutes) to discharge the capacitors in the airbag computer. Don't face the airbag as you remove the connector and fasteners.

Always carry them at arms' length and always put them down slowly. Never drop them, and don't handle any more than necessary.

That said, have you ever seen how the guys at junkyards handle them? Just toss them around...

Seen them blow 55 gal oil drums 40 ft. into the air.

ANyone else think that someone who doesn't know what a Torqx drive is maybe shouldn't be doing this?

Excellent point...

If you don't know what you're dealing with, DON'T!!!

It would suck to lose a few fingers over a small job like this.
