Has anyone ever popped the airbag in a early Q? How hard was the impact that set it off? Was the deployment violent? Any injuries from the airbag?

i have never experienced q45 airbags, but let me say this-

from experience in towing and vehicle recovery [including accident recovery], its is very uncommon for the passenger airbag to NOT break the windshield when it deploys. [in general, not specific]

I have experienced airbags and they saved my life. I hit a wall doing 80 after slowing down with NO seatbelt. (young and dumb)

Well I walked away with just scatches on my arm because I hit the wall so hard I broke the window with my left arm and shattered it to pieces. I shouldnt be here but through God and him giving us technology I am.

when my son totaled my 94 both airbags went off. the passenger bag gave his date a minor rash on the forehead...she was very short.

it did break the windshield. they both said they coughed a bit from the resin (which is there to prevent the rash issues, I believe)

anyway, they walked away... said they were more impressed with the Q's seatbelts.

the powder is talc. it prevents the bag from sticking to itself [remember, the bags can be tucked away for 10+ years before deployment].

it also acts as a dry lube so that the bag inflates as quickly as possible.

as far as the windshield, i cannot think of any car that i recovered with blown passenger airbags that didnt break the windsheild.

that gives you an idea of the force that the bags are packing.
