Hey guys I got t boned at an intersection by a car that ran a red light. Her car smashed into my driver side. She denied liability and claims she was stopped at the light and I ran it.
The police are unable to determine who was at fault. My car is totaled, and I’m trying to show she couldn’t have been stopped because the impact and damage was severe.
Anyone know the speed of impact to cause side airbags to deploy?
Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks!

wish I knew the info. I read a thread where a user hit curb hard and the airbags deployed. I also run a camera. Its a cheap ebay camera cost like 50 bucks with a 32 gig card... I start vehicle camera comes on records every thing I do and see front and back. I know its a little late but your story is why I run a camera any time I drive in all my vehicles. Good Luck

The accident damage configuration will likely easily show the cars' movements. If she was moving you will have much more impact inwards, if not yours will be skidding past type damage. Any accident lawyer can usually figure that out. Look at the skid marks as well before they disappear from the street and take pics. If she was stopped at the light you likely would have had to swerve into her as well, your just running a light dead straight would have you missing her. She would have to be past the walk line for you to be able to hit her.
Only an engineer will know the airbag deploy forces as they change depending on how the accident happens, they are not set in stone and different variables in the crash set up how they fire and when.
Pic the damage. Tell the lawyer to check her cell records and get the exact time of the accident. Get pics of her car as well, they tell the tale too. File an official accident report if the police don't do it, that makes you look more likely to be innocent by doing it. The people who run away from responsibility never do.
