I'm thinking this is the right place for this question. I would like to see tons of pics with SR20's with air to water intercooling. I mainly like this idea for the incognito factor. I am sure you can school me on whether a front mount, air to air, or a water to air is better. Or perhaps there is another type even more efficient. I am thinking air to water would have the penalty of a little more weight, right? Thanks. I seriously did not find another group where to write this one.

I don't know much about it but i think water to air is a better cooling since u don't have a big front mount in front of your radiator. a guy from frsport is running this set up and it's pretty bad a$$

It works great if you can keep the water cool enough. A large Air to Air is cheaper and simple. I run a 24x12x4 core and never have an issue with heat soak when driving. Of course it will do it on the dyno after a long enough time. I was checking out LS1tech the other day and a few guys are running a 6" thick core on there cars. That would take days to heatsoak.

This idea stemed from the idea of having the set up inside the engine. A front mount tells everybody you have a turbo lurking. Specially the popo, or those ones who like the five finger discount. I did do a bit of looking on the boards, and found an article about a homemade heat exchanger. The conversation went into the fact that the water would heat up, and that they are better for the drag strip due to the option of ice.

I don't know how to post links, but I tried.

I agree with all this. I Think the water would heat up some even inside the cabin, or trunk. But then again, that would be the purpose of the cooling core, with fans on it. This product seems to be sweet on that end. http://www.frozenboost.com/pro...7ea26

So, what gives. Ugh! I also agree with drifterprodigy. A stealthy air to air may be the way to go.

I still would like to see pics of sr20's with air to water set ups. If someone could point met where to go. I wonder if anyone here has bought one of those air to water from the site above.

Its so much involved and expensive to run a air to water innercooler. The stealthyness doesnt outweight the cost. If its one thing ive learned over the years with my SR and RB is that the simplest of setups are the most effective on the street. Thats why Carb'd V8s still rule the streets. lol.
