Check ecu for code 41.

The very early ka24e sohc cars did not have an IAT though, what is the 9 digit number on your ecu lid?

X11-XXX-GXX ?

If you can get that number I can tell you exactly if the ecu is expecting an IAT signal or not.

last 3 is G40 and get code 55 which if i remember was all good... no sign of a temp sensor or cut wires, so maybe it is a early one... and how ya been devious? long time no talk if ya remember me

Yeah man, I remember, No more sohc NA huh? You building a turbo set now? Ive been great, and even better now that spring/summer is here once again! Finally get some heat down onto that asphalt

That ecu you have (G40) is an early 9.1:1CR version and it does not need the IAT, obviously since you are getting the code 55. So if this is in an original car/engine, it should be the 9.1:1 compression ratio.

If you were to swap a later model 90 ecu on that car you should pick up some power, but you would have to wire in an IAT (1 wire, ground is shared with others.)

You been over to check out eccs.hybridka.com ecu tuning forum yet? Lots of info for ka24e sohc ecus as well as the dohc.

hey.. my ka24e is a 1990 but i have a 89 ka24e ecu? i have a air intake sensor.. but i have it unplugged for now becasue I put a cold air intake in and i didn't hooked the air timep sensor back up yet.. so if my engine is a 1990 but with an 89 ecu? would i need to plug up in my air intake sensor to get more throttle responds or anything and not cutting out???
