My rb20 has a high idle cold and warm. I pinched hose going to air regulator and car idles down like it supposed too. Then I checked the air regulator and I have no power going to it. I have searched the service manual and cannot find how it is wired to ecm. I may still may have a bad air regulator but need to get power to it first. Thanks for any help!

Same here but im running an rb25det. The air regulator isnt wired to the ecm because its not on the ecu pinout and its not on the diagram... i just did my wiring harness so i havent started the car yet to really see if its gona do anything but i know that one of the wires is not hooked up(which is yellow)

I also cant find any info on it on any manual that i have seen, all i find is how the hoses are connected.

Please tell if you find out how its wired. If i find out i will post...

I will let you know if I find out. I have read that one wire has 12v other is ground but where it gets 12v is a mystery.

I have done some more studying and found that ecm controls ground to activate. I still need some more input on this to be sure, because if this is true you could just use a switched 12v source from anywhere. Here is a post on cleaning-http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums ... l=cold+air

The air regulator is not controlled by the ecu. It gets 12v from the fuel pump relay and the other side is just grounded. This is the exact same way the factory ka air regulator is hooked up.

As far as high idle issues go, make sure your ficd solenoid isn't accidentally getting 12v. Also make sure you don't have any boost leaks.

Thanks for info, my high idle is from the air regulator being stuck open. I need to take it off and try to clean first. Then I need to get power to it and find out witch wire is supposed to be powered.

I have a simular issue, car idles high and sometimes surges until its gets to FULL operating temp, then it idles perfectly fine i was thinking about disabling this completly, and using my EMS to vary the duty to the IACV per coolant temp

I fixed my high idle all the time . I pulled harness out and traced wires for air regulator and found who ever wired car did not wire in the b/y wire. My m30 with vg the wire is supposed to be wired in to eccs relay and the 240 is wired in a fuel pump relay(thanks bluefire). After I wired it in and started car it ran at 1100rpm and then idled way down when warm. I had to turn my idle way up to get it to idle. Now my problem is my tps is bad I tried to set it at .45v but mine reads 5.0v all the time.

I plugged off the air regulator today and that has solved ALL of my issues, if you have any type of EMS this is the way to go, IMO...

I just turned up the IACV duty per coolant temp, so the IACV makes the idle go up when its cold, ive done the same thing with my honda as well
