Question for you guys. I know the theory of operation of the air regultor. If i went in and manually closed off the valve permanently do you guys think it would hurt the idle at all. This is of course if the car is warmed up to normal operating temp and the air reg closed. what do ya think?

i'm talking about the iacv air regulator. Its the other valve with the bimetalic stip that closes at temp.

Do you mean the thermostatic warm air intake? If thats what you mean, then you can defeat it, if your climate is kind of warm. If it malfunctions on its own, the car will run like its out of tune because of the hot air.
