I had a small leak on the return radiator hose that goes in under the oil filter. Removed and replaced clamp. Drained, refilled with distilled water. Ran, drained again, refilled with new antifreeze, took it around the block and overheated immediately. After much effort finally found the purge bolt located on the left side facing the car near the firewall. Removed, filled with pressure from a insecticide sprayer, and still no luck. Redrained system from drain plug on bottom of radiator. Refilled and still no luck.
Motor doesn't overheat, but I can hear the gurgling in the dash and still have no heat. The upper hose gets warm, but the lower hose after the T-stat is cold. I have a steep driveway so it is already inclined. So again, facing car, left side hoses get hot, but nothing on the right side after the heater core coming back to the front of the car. Not sure what to do next. Any advice will be welcoming.
I am afraid to let car run too long or try to drive it and let it burp out not knowing if no circulation on the drivers side. Its' almost like the t-stat is not opening either, but everything was fine before. I'm assuming flow of direction is from passenger side to driver side.

Welcome to the forum.

In the old days you could burp it via squeezing the hose too...not sure if that works on this car.

There was some discussion about this recently: topic606143.html#p6685600

This purge bolt that you used, you mention that it's located on the left side, correct? I believe there is a bleeder screw on the right side (passenger side, as most manuals refer to objects with the perspective of sitting in the driver seat), and it shouldn't be difficult to locate. This one should directly burp the heater core.
It is on a short plastic Tee and it looks like the radiator drain screw.
