i've been looking all over and the only intake that i can find for an 89 240sx is the injen is1910 short ram air intake priced at least $200. i've seen dozens and dozens of auctions (ebay) for cold air intakes going for $30-$40 but only for newer models (91 and +). anyone know where i can find a cheap but effective cold air intake for a reasonable price?

also i've been looking at alot of exhausts. i really like the look of the dual n-1 apexi exhausts but the price... is a little too high. any suggestions on a good cheap exhausts out there i can look into:confused: :help :help :help :help :help :help

*oh yeah, whats the + & -'s between an aluminum and stainless steel exhaust, thanks

Well to answer some of your questions, as far as exhausts go, BRM has a really nice dual tip SS exhaust for the S13's and an Aluminized steel aswell.

With the pros & cons between aluminum vs SS, well it depends where you live. Aluminum doesn't do well w/ water or humidity, and SS lasts Forever. This is covered in more detail in the General 240 forum in the NEW BRM EXHAUST thread, Check it out!

Since you seem to be new to NICO I hope no one gives you a hard time but for future reference the "SEARCH" function of this forum works out great and you can find lots of information that has been discussed before so that people don't have to repeat themselves... It gets tiring discussing the some thing over and over again.

Hope this helps you!

any intake will do fine. as long as there is not huge thing blocking the intake it would be fine.

exhausts rule of thumb is. 2.25"-2.5" = N/A cars, 3"+ = turbo.

thanks for the help guys. i have seen those Brm exhausts but even that $420 SS exhaust is too much (+ shipping) but since i live in the midwest (wet summers and snowy winters) i'll probably have to put more money in for a stainless anyways. as for the intake, if anyone can find one under or around $100, let me know, and thanks again

if you go to courtesyparts.com they have a JWT Pop-Charger which is basically a cone filter intake. it comes out to be around $118 after tax (i dont know about shipping because i just picked it up from their shop). i just got it and put it on my car a couple days ago. it's not bad. i also ordered one of those vented headlight covers to feed the air in better.
