Has anyone tried removing the intake resonator from the 2.5?Has you noticed any difference besides sound? Is there a guide to doing so?

Thanks

Welcome to the club Mrac!

What intake resonator are you talking about? Do you mean the resonator in the exhaust?

Thanks!

I'm talking about the resonator in the air intake that muffles the noise, not the one in the exhaust.

The intake noise is muffled by the shape of the intake itself and all of the baffles designed into the tubing. What exactly are you talking about removing? You can replace the stock intake with an aftermarket intake if thats what you are trying to get at.

I thought there was a intake resonator in the altima, but I guess not. I was just curious as I had removed the resonator from my previous car (civic) and as a result sounded like I had installed an aftermarket intake.

Sorry for such a noob question, just got my altima coupe a few days ago.

i feel what you are saying... i had a 2002 dodge neon. When i was installing my cai i had to remove the resonator. Id say it weighed about 8lbs and took up the area inside the bumper to the wheel well. The altima does not have home of these per say. The air inlet piping might limit the sound a little

Get an intake already. lol and welcome to the forum
