I have a question. does aftermarket intake (AEM) tend to make the engine rooms leaner or richer?

thanks

I know it will get more air. It should run the same as far as lean and rich. Your mass air should be able to sence the extra air and burn correctly. Does someoone who actualy know what there doing have imput on this.

Should stay the same.

It'll stay the same until at some point you start maxing out the injectors, but just an intake won't do that.

Are you sure toyota MAFs run leaner, and not toyota MAP-sensor-equipped cars? The advantage of a MAF over a MAP is mostly that the MAF works a lot better with modifications or changing conditions in general.

Most mid 90's and later toyotas had the flapper door maf's. The nissan has the hotwire maf and is much more accurate, will compensate any airflow and provide oem intended a/f.

edit, the toyota ones arent really a maf, but an afm.
