Sup fellas, I recently installed a WeaponR Cold Air Intake however the car feels & sounds no different from before. I notice a slight change in exhaust note but nothing else.

I had an 02 Q45 with an AEM (If I remember correctly) CAI and there was a H U G E difference on the 1st start. I believe I went to heavy on the throttle which caused the car to shutdown then the HUGE boost was negated however I still felt and heard the intake on my Q45.

I don't understand why I'm not seeing any difference on my J30... I've seen many cars with the WeaponR intake new & old they sound great.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
Vlad

Different cars, different engines, different breathing characteristics, different results. CAIs don't do a whole hell of a lot. I would rate it up there with a good tuneup as far as the power shift you can expect.

Yea I agree, there isn't a big difference on average but for there to be zero difference at all especially in sound from the engine sucking in more air is a problem.

I installed a K&N filter a few months back and noticed something so this larger intake should make a difference (in sound).

The performance part I know is weak probably 1-2hp and possibly 5-10 combined with free flow exhaust and even more with ECU mod however the sound coming from the cockpit usually changes a lot.

The guy who installed it was smoking and might have dirtied up the MAF sensor... it may need cleaning... I don't know...
A lot of members here have installed POP Chargers and noticed a nice difference so I'm kinda irked why I don't see anything on a similar intake.

There is no guarantee the sound will change. I highly doubt anything is wrong. You don't hear the sound you expected and your mind has run away to the point it "feels" like something is wrong.

hmmm... I see. One of my mechanics told me I should try a different intake but I don't know.

I wasted $92 on this thing maybe I should contact the retailer... can't win em all I suppose.
