After asking around I have been unable to figure out what the tube on the bottom of the main intake tube runs to or what its function is. It is on the left side of the radiator, invisible unless you look way down from the left side. The yellow arrow on the pic is about where it is underneath.

I am buying a cold air intake for the car (1992 240sx coupe KA24DE 2.4L DOHC), but all the aftermarket intakes do not have a connection for this tube?? So my question is it a necessary connection or does it not make a difference if disconnected?

It goes to a resonator. My Injen intake fits right up to it. I have hooked it up and taped it off. It didn't really seem to make any difference.

Most people shove a bottle cap up in the hose. It doesn't make a difference.

Shouldn't be a problem if its not connected, it isn't really important.
