Hello all!

First, I am new to the forum!
Second, this is my first 300zx, but I have always wanted one
Third, I am very mechanically competent (actually in school for it too) but I have humility and I know I don't know everything...especially about these cars...so I appreciate any and all help

So I have a 1990 2+2 with a twin turbo conversion. Just bought the car. It had sat for 2 years and I drove it 3 hours home (yay Nissan!!). It runs rough...misfire...if you can get past 3k rpm its a champ. Idle either surges or sits at 2k. Cruises 75 mph at 3k with an occasional hesitation. I am looking into issues, but I found a huge one already and am very confused. It seems like I have no air intake system. The car came with a dual and single cone set up in the trunk, but there is no piping where it is supposed to be. I cannot find any pics that match my car. In the place of the air pipes there is another small cooler of some sort, and my MAF is just bolted randomly to that with a plate on it. Is the MAF possibly bypassed? I have blow off valves. Just very confused right now

I have a pic,but I do not see how to attach it to the thread....does this even sound familiar to anyone??

Thanks!

I got it figured out! It has a Silen MAF translater and my pipes are in fenders...but I still have no filters...lol. I will def be asking more questions on here though!

Runs rough after sitting 2 years? Unless they were replaced with new style I would say your injectors are stuck or acting up. Also Idk about other people but mine if it's got older or low grade gasoline it won't run good and I"m NA. I would think turbo would be more sensitive to good quality 93 octane fuel.

Heh, sounds ghetto...or they rigged the original air piping system up to be "dual" and bypassed the original air filter. Whatever it is, sounds like a bad idea. Should be really easy to fix though. Just hook up that dual setup to the hard intake piping that's under the nose panel.
