I have to say there's little to no difference between any of them. Essentially, the bigger the intake the better it breathes as long as you're using a high flow air filter. But there is a level of diminishing return.

Watch out for K&N's as the oil can mess up the MAF if not properly dried or too much oil is applied.

Find one with a washable filter. The damn things cost $25-40 a pop, expensive. Washable ones usually pay for themselves after the second or third use.

I've got the K&N filter, it definitely makes a difference, both in power and sound.

The sound at WOT just brings a smile to my face.

And the power is noticeable, both in the seat of the pants and on my Scangauge. The Scangauge can display 'horsepower' it was displaying a max of about 195 before the K&N, and 215 after. Not sure how accurate the horsepower reading is, but it is a bigger number.

And it looks good. I'm sure the Weapon R looks good as well, I also have one of those for my Spyder, but it's sitting in a box until spring. I have a K&N currently on it, and it works good, but the K&N isn't meant for that application, the Weapon R is.

just put a K&N on my wife's '01 pathy.... been on for about a month and have noticed an increase in seat of the pants "push" and MPG's up 2-4. I read about the oil on the MAF, but also read about the how to clean it and can replace it w/ the '01 Maxima MAF for around 80 bucks as opposed to the 2-300 for the same part under the pathy name..so went w/ the K&N and am happy about it. Attached is a site to order the correct MAF for your pathy. http://www.nissanparts.cc/cart/?pn=22680-2Y001

this is for the '01 maxima MAF , nissan part number 22680-2Y001

K&N's are ok. You just have to make sure to not over oil the filter after you wash it and make sure to let them dry for a few hours before slapping it in and driving it around.

Basically the oil traps any dirt that tries to pass through the filter, so that in 50,000 km when it gets dirty, you just wash the filter out and you have a clean filter again.

The problem, is that you have to re-oil the filter, a lot of people go overboard, or are impatient. You don't need a lot of oil, but you need to give it time to get soaked in properly. So people just spray more oil than is needed.

I've been using K&N's for years, I'm sure I've saved hundreds by not buying new air filters all the time.
