Anyone have experience installing an AFR gauge with pillar pod?

Was it a PITA? Take a while?

I searched and found nothing relavant

nope not hard at all.

Take the A-pilar cover off, match the pod and drill few holes on the A-pillar cover and it snaps right on.

Red goes to 12v source (your ignition) and black grounds and purple hooks up to the oxygen sensor wire on the ECU.

Autometer does suck! And so do narrowband "air/fuel" gauges. Don't even bother installing one, the readings other than stoichometric(14.7:1) are incorrect as the stock o2 sensor is set to know only rich or lean. Not accurate for anything, unless your into the blinking light look and just want gauges for looks! If you want an a/f gauge get a wideband. Sorry if I seem like a jerk, but these gauges are pointless. IMO.

I'd have to agree. a narrowband afr monitor is more like an open/closed loop monitor. You would be better served putting your money somewhere else.

http://www.zeitronix.com has really sweet widebands with datalogging, but if you want one with a gauge try the AEM UEGO, dynojet or get a PLX with the digital display. You can find them cheap on ebay, I'd recomend getting one that has the anolog output so you simply replace your stock narrowband with the wideband.

Some narrorw bands are good at WOT....but for closed loop they are pretty much useless
