s13 blacktop sr20detfmic8 lbs boostwalbro 255everything else related mostly stock

the question is, my gauge which i just hooked up is pinned all the way to the rich side even under full boost

is this a possibility with these modifications?

i have it wired correctly, including wiring to the signal wire off of the oxygen sensor. i know this because when the power is on and the motor is off the gauge reads all the way lean, then goes to all the way rich when the motor is on.

i will be installing the safcII tonight or tommorow to change the ratios. i just want to make sure this sounds normal to you guys.

thanks in advance

what kind/brand if A/F gauge are you using, ALL excecpt the WIDE band are unrelable and should not be use the do not show you the reading in a fashon that you can tune with, ise AEM, Inovate or other REAL wide band ....

narrowband A/F is useless but it is doing its job correctly. At WOT your car richens the mixtures to well bellow 14.7 afr at which point your afr gauge will show rich. If it goes above 14.7 like on deceleration, then it will show lean. It basically shows if you are at 14.7 AFR, or if you are richer or leaner, how much is anybodies guess without a wideband.

Yes, the pump raises the base fuel pressure a bit.

As virus77 said...stock oxygen sensors are basically a switch and you are either rich or lean, how much rich or how much lean? it doesnt know because its stupid.

If you want to see your true air/fuel ratio, you need a whole wideband kit, like the AEM or Innovative one, and expect to pay $200 to $300 for it. It will include a new oxygen sensor (with 5 or 6 wires coming from it) that is a heated sensor. And your stock ECU will still need the signal from the stock oxygen sensor, so you have to leave that in the pipe and add a bung for the wideband, so you will have 2 oxygen sensors. One narrow band for the ECU and a wideband for your AFR gauge/datalogger/whatever.
