hey guys. i got one basically cuz it looks cool lol. i like seeing what's up w/ my engine too of course :thinker

but anyhow, it's an autometer ultra lite 2 1/16" gauge...what do i hook it up to? lol

there are 3 wires, 1 red 1 black 1 purple...the red and black are power of course...the purple goes where? i'm a bit confused

im not as much of a noob as i sound, i'm just tired and dont feel like explaining in detail...

HOW DO I PUT IT IN? lol

black = groundred = any switched power source like the line for your stereopurple = taps onto your o2 sensor at ecu or anywhere along that wire.

yea, i got that far, i'm thinking either the wrong wire is tapped or the gauge is bad...the guys at my shop put it in while they had my car...can anyone point me in the direction of which wire on the ecu it is?

search nico for that online fsm and check that out, or follow the wire coming from the o2 sensor

I couldn't get my gauge to work so I gave it to my friend for free. I just bought the LM-1 a/f ratio gauge(wideband) yesterday from LS Auto.:D Can't wait to install it and then start tuning my afc-2.

I have basic bolt ons. It's a good universal tool to have to know how the car is running, accurate when tuning. Better than the autometer a/f ratio gauge.

I'm sure yours is doing the same a mine. It looks as though it doesn't work, but I doubt you and I both got a bad one. I am going to test each of the wires coming from the o2 sensor and try tapping into those as opposed to connecting it at the ecu. I'll let you know A.S.A.P.

Flashing lights are goodness. The A/F gauge is the first thing that anyone comments on when they get in the car at night. All of my stoner friends like it because it gives them something to stare at. One of my buddies even has a chant, "Blue, blue.. make it blue!!" Because he likes the bright blue LED glow of rich, WOT.

LoL, I can't disagree with you on that because I like the flashing lights myself. Although all mine did was stay green everytime so I gave up and gave it to my friend. I thought it was the gauge too, but as soon as my friend installed it onto his civic...it was a light show!

hey phax, since yours is working...where did you hook the sensor wire to?

For Autometer gauges, if the wires are hooked up right, the solid single green means it has power but no signal. Totally dark means no power or signal out of range. I have seen several that work but seem to be out of the range, sort of shooting across the whole gauge sometimes off on the red side totally for a while.

The one in my car works perfectly, very useful for testing Z32 MAF sensors, I can spot a bad one in 5 seconds.

Maybe your O2 sensor is bad or not getting 12v or bad ground. Check those out, do you get bad gas mileage?

lmao yea i do...it's really just an unfixable issue...called lead foot :pface

but yeah, the guys at my shop are idiots and tapped the wrong ecu wire...my gauge was trying to read the TPS input :rolleyes

gonna ***** them out tomorrow

They tapped your TPS to try to get an A/F gauge to work? Huh? I have a Bosch O2 sensor. I tapped the white wire for the signal for the A/F sensor. The other two were red and black, and go to what you'd expect red and black to go to (positive and ground).

lol we have different o2 sensors than what they are meant for...we' have narrowband, they are meant for the wideband..(off top of my head..);therefore, they give a very inaccurate reading.
